Hello All, 2 Cor 1:20-22 This passage has some awesome truths to ponder…we are established in Christ, anointed by God and sealed by the Holy Spirit. What a beautiful picture of the Trinity working together to establish, anoint and seal the believer. As you look back at vs. 20 you see that all of the promises of God “in Him” are “Yes, and in Him Amen.” In Christ Jesus we have access to all of the promises of God…of those promises; the most important is the Holy Spirit…because it is by Him that we have access to the Father. Eph 1:18 In Acts chapter two Peter stood up on the day of Pentecost and declared that what everyone had seen and heard was the “promise” of the Spirit being poured out on the believers… Acts 2:32-33 He is the third person of the Trinity…the Holy Spirit of promise…that the Father has sent to seal those who have put their trust in Jesus… Eph 1:13 I want to define the Greek word for sealed, that we have seen in these passages. Sealed – NT:4972 – sfragizoo – for security: to confirm, authenticate, place beyond doubt (Thayer's Greek Lexicon) We are given His Spirit to secure, confirm, authenticate and place beyond doubt our relationship with Him. I don’t know about you, but that is most definitely the most important promise to me…to know that I am His and He is mine. Everything else just pales in comparison.I love you all and can’t wait to see you on Sunday, Todd |
