Hello All,

The Lord woke me up this morning with one word running through my mind…commissioned.  As I meditated on that word He began to speak to my heart about the reality that we are co-laborers with Him in His Mission.  We have a co-mission to demonstrate the Kingdom and to reach man with the Love of the Father.  As I pondered that thought, I went to the dictionary to see the meaning of commissioned…

Commissioned – the authority granted to a person or organization to act as an agent for another. (Encarta Dictionary)

When I went to the Bible about this; I was immediately led to a very familiar passage of scripture…

Matt 28:18-20
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.  NKJV

In verse 18 Jesus says that all authority has been given to Him…then He commissions us to “go therefore.”  Jesus is declaring that we have been commissioned to walk as He walked on the earth…we are co-laborers with Him…

2 Cor 6:1
1 As God’s fellow-workers we also urge you not to receive His grace and then do nothing with it.  CJB

As fellow-workers, or co-laborers, with God we must not allow the amazing grace that we have received to lie dormant in our lives.  We have been given authority, through our union with Christ, to demonstrate His kingdom on the earth...below is “Todd’s illustrated version” of Eph 1:19…

Eph 1:19…and what is the exceeding (extreme, supreme) greatness (magnitude) of His power (ability, power in action) toward (into) us who believe, according to the working (energy) of His mighty (powerful & forceful) power (manifested power; dominion)

We are to be an expression of the Father’s love, for the world around us, and He has empowered us to represent Him well.  It is through this inward working of God that we walk out the ministry of reconciliation that He has committed to us…

2 Cor 5:19
19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.  NKJV
